Children of the Father

See ye what love the Father hath given to us, that children of God we may be called.
1John 3:1

(Please read in a loving and calm voice, rather than a pirate voice. (Ok, do the pirate voice too))

The people of the world will try to see our Father in heaven by looking at how we are different to those who aren’t His children.
But how are we different? Often, we’re very nearly same. Generally, the most obvious difference is in attitudes towards sex. All that can be seen is that our Father is old-fashioned. How are people to know that isn’t just the influence of our human fathers?
If there is no difference in effects, there’s generally no difference in cause. If your heavenly Father’s effect on you appears to be nothing, it appears that He is nothing.
Maybe you need to get closer to your Father. Maybe you need to take courage and uncover the truth in you. Maybe you need to stop conforming and listening to the world where you should be listening to God.
We need to remember that we’re children of the light, and live so. It’s really easy (at least for me) to get drawn into the world’s way. God’s way seems so weird. Well, I need to remember, my Father is weird, and the world would be far better if we were weird like Him.

God bless you.
